Note
EFile is only for tax professionals who register with CRA as EFilers. If you are preparing tax returns for yourself, family or friends, please switch to the NETFILE software.

CAUTION: Effective July 15, 2025, you will no longer be able to submit an E-Auth (T1013) request for individuals through our EFILE software or FormExpress. The CRA's EFILE system now returns Error T864 because the service has been discontinued. For the official notice, please visit the CRA website. In the meantime, you may invite your clients to log in to My Account and authorize you directly.

Installation Notes
  • Folder Access: Add myTaxExpress as a Windows 10 controlled folder access allowed app. You need to grant Read/Write access to the Documents folder. More details here.
  • License Key Issue: If you have difficulty retrieving your license key online after installation, please install this Microsoft system patch.
  • Linux Users: This version is also compatible with Linux Wine.

Linux

Limited Features
Important Feature Limitations

The Linux version cannot perform Online filing or Condensed Print.

However, regular print is fully enabled — you can prepare your return and print it normally. If you need online filing or use Condensed Print, Use Wine with Windows release; or simply copy the prepared return file from the Linux version to a Windows or Mac installation of myTaxExpress, where those features are available.
